Patrick Vien, Chief Executive Officer of Warner Music International, will be delivering a ‘Big Interview’ keynote at this year’s London Calling (28th and 29th June, Earls Court, London) where he will discuss how the company is restructuring to tap into new business areas and why such a move is essential for labels to operate successfully in the 21st Century.
Vien provides a heavyweight international music business perspective to London Calling’s line-up that also includes the legendary Bowie music producer Tony Visconti and the top music industry bodies’ leaders (IFPI Chairman John Kennedy and WIN President, Alison Wenham).
Among the artists participating at London Calling are Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook – interrupting their sell-out Squeeze reunion tour plans – as part of the event’s series of artist case-studies called “How Did They Do That?”, in conjunction with and hosted by the BPI. Difford and Tilbrook and the others involved will be giving first hand insights into the conception, recording, marketing and success of their classic album “Cool For Cats”.
According to David Conway, a partner in the fast growing London Calling event, these latest additions to a line-up that already includes more than 400 international exhibitors, dozens of seminars and a stream of expert one-to-one advisors “are typical of what we are trying to achieve at London Calling, a mix of international business and inspiration in a chilled environment.”
London Calling will also feature a jam-packed line-up of live music, showcases, gigs, parties and networking events.
